  it has been several months now, since i learned ttat and the shock and grief is slowly lifting, although some days are harder than others.

  after 40 years a devout believer i guess i should not be surprised that the transition has been challenging and the losses immense, and i am sure very many of you can relate to my struggles.

  i frequently read the posts on here and my heart goes out to all of you, who grieve and struggle each in your own way, and i wish all of you continued courage and peace.

  How do you deal with people who do not like you?

  hi guysin the last year i have started to socialise a lot more.

  namely comedy and a tennis social club.. for a variety of reasons i find socialising tough.

  in my tennis club a couple of women have been extremely rude to me and i have blocked one from my phone and refuse to speak to both.. is my behaviour extreme?paul.

  I posted about 2 months ago about a person who was very hateful towards me. Since then she has come back to our UU congregation acting like nothing ever happened. I have done nothing but show kindness to her except I keep a very close eye on her. Not being funny I feel she has some mental problem going on because her personality has changed from last time. I plan is to keep her at arm length be kind to her but limit any interaction with her. Good luck and I hope you will find a good way to cope with these two women. Still Totally ADD

  When I was still in we took the visiting speaker out to lunch at a Chinese restaurant. After the meal the waiter gave us a bunch of fortune cookies. Everyone grab one to eat except the speaker. He was outwardly upset that we was eating them. He said he refused the cookies because it was spiritistic and we should also have refused them. He was such a kill joy. Still Totally ADD

  sexual abuse is most certainly the most horrific type of child abuse, but the more i read the more i realize that anyone born into the "cult" is a victim.

  we are all victims of lying, emotional and spiritual abuse over years or over decades.

  CovertsadtsadJW as a born-in I totally agree with what you said. I remember about 15 years ago I was telling a CO about the abuses I went through as a child in this cult. His answer to me was the abuses made me a stronger person. I just stood there dumbfounded by what he said to me. Looking back I can now see how everything in the Borg is just a series of abuses compounded on top of more abuse. Yes we are all survivors. Maybe one day the abuses of the Borg will be meant with long jail terms. One can only hope. Take care. Still Totally ADD

  A Theocratic Government

  the watchtower has long proudly proclaimed that the wts " is in no way democratic but theocratic" and looks forward to a theocratic government in the new world.

  it is seen as the best thing possible.

  it is interesting watching the news media to see that theocratic governments are seen in a low light and that form of government is a dirty word , it sèems.

  Just think about all those elders who were real ass holes and the promise to be princess in paradise under a theocratic government helping to rule over others. Can you imagine what that would look like? Princess running around with a ruler measuring men's hair to see if it's too long. No color shirts, women doing field work wearing dresses with panties hose on, men who forget to shave made to clean out the outhouse, children to be seen and not heard and if they fall out of line public beatings. This and many more things you would see under a theocratic government run by the Borg. We don't even want to talk about what if a married couple gets caught having oral sex. What a wonderful place that will be. Lol. Still Totally ADD

  My dad RIP

  my dad died 2 weeks ago on sunday.

  i will miss him so much.

  he was the funniest most greatest man i have ever known.. granted for the first 30 years i wasnt that much keen on him and i don't think he was on me much either.....let me explain.. mum and dad met in 1964, mum was the prettiest girl in the town, mini skirts, raised hair, the daintiest figure, she looked the spit of audrey hepburn at breakfast at tiffanys.

  Funny News From My Old Congragation - Elder Fight!

  i haven't stopped laughing since i heard this.

  a pimo in my last congregation told me that an elder has been removed from his elder position.

  apparently he grabbed another elder by the throat, put him up against a wall in the back room and punched him in on the nose... during an elders meeting on thursday evening after the meeting.. the congregation were running round like headless chickens wondering what to do?

  Thank you P.E. for this story. It does remind me while I was still a elder in the last congregation I was in there was several elder meetings where two other elders almost came to blows. One was a older X-CO the other a 40's elder who hated this guy. I feel justly so because the former CO was committing simony with everyone and lying about his heavy drinking. When the acting CO came in town to fix this situation he sided with the x-CO. It was a real eye opener for me on favoritism that was shown. Soon after the 40's elder was killed in a auto accident and things clam down. I would wager this happens a lot more than you think. I hope you come up with more stories like this. Take care.   has anybody else noticed a pattern that is here among us outcasts?

  there seems to be, on average, a higher level of intelligence here than there is at the kingdom hall.

  actually, intelligent conversation seems to be looked down upon among the witnesses.. also, the simple language skills found here seem to be above average compared to those among the witnesses.

  Diogenesister when it comes to my intelligence becoming a master gardener is most likely the only formal education I will ever receive. If it looks like I was bragging that was not my intention. Many here had gone a lot further in their education than me and this is because we have all freed ourselves from a mind controlling cult. Allowing us to use our minds freely. Saying that perhaps that what makes us look more intelligent than those who are still not awake and trap in the cult. I do have a sign that says: I am a Gardener- what is your Superpower? Take care.   Still Totally ADD

  I am a person with only high school education with several learning disability. The only reading material in our house when growing up was Wt. and Awake. Any extra insight into the world came only from the TV. Finally leaving at the age of 56 I was free to seek other forms of reading material. I read and I read learning many things I did not know. I was able to take a year of education and volunteer work to become a Penn State Master Gardener. This and finding a group of people who became my friends who all went to and taught in college as a career further my appreciation for learning as well my self esteem increased.

  I will never go to college but I have learned I will never stop learning for the rest of my life. The importance of good friends is crucial. Unlike the Borg my new friends have shown interest in me for who I am not because they are required to. Are we more intelligent than others who are still trapped in the cult? No but we are free to express our minds, free to live our lives as we want, free to learn what we are interested in, not what some old City boy wants us to learn and most important we are able to find our authentic personality. Cult's are made to keep people ignorant and that ignorance makes people look less intelligent. This is about as smart as I can get. Lol Still Totally ADD
